fave products // tata harper resurfacing serum

If I had to pick a favorite type of skincare product, it would probably be serum. I know that's not super specific, since there are so many different types these days, but they really seem do to it all. From vitamin C to anti-blemish to hydrating, there's a serum out there for everyone, no matter what your skin concern. I've been a Tata Harper fan for a while now, so when they came out with a serum version of their cult-favorite Resurfacing Mask, I knew I had to try it. Touted as your daily dose of glow, the Resurfacing Serum is packed with AHAs, BHAs, and antioxidants that work to refine and resurface your skin. It's great for evening out skin texture and dullness- the acids are essentially sloughing off those dead skin cells that can build up and cause it in the first place! Those pesky free radicals (that I've talked about before) in the environment can age your skin, causing you to look older than you are. That's where powerful antioxidants come into play, fighting off those negative effects and keeping your skin glowing as it should! It's basically your whole exfoliation process combined into one dainty bottle that leaves your skin super smooth and bright. I like to apply the serum right after my Hydrating Floral Essence, while my skin is still damp, as it really helps with the absorption process. And, since I know this isn't exactly cheap- it helps ensure a little goes a long way, making your serum last much longer! As with all Tata products, this baby is made with all-natural ingredients, many of which are organic as well, so you can feel good about using it on your face. Non-toxic and highly effective? fave products // dermalogica biolumin-c serum

I’m sure by now you’ve heard about the benefits of vitamin C. This potent antioxidant works wonders for your skin, boasting some seriously impressive anti-aging qualities. The truth is that various natural and environmental triggers are working against your skin every single day, causing hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines and loss of elasticity. That’s where Dermalogica’s BioLumin-C Serum comes in. Using advanced biotechnology, it delivers the maximum amount of vitamin C specifically where your skin needs it the most, essentially enhancing the skin’s natural defense system and giving you brighter skin from within. Their version is also ultra-stable, so it actually delivers three times more vitamin C serum into your skin than other similar products!

I’ve been using the serum for a while now, and have been seriously impressed with the results. Lately I’ve been dealing with slight hyperpigmentation in certain spots, and I’ve definitely noticed my skin has become brighter and more balanced since using BioLumin-C. Not to mention if feels more firm. It’s clear that vitamin C is a true skincare powerhouse, but Dermalogica takes their product a step further. Besides neutralizing free radicals and helping defend against oxidative stress, this supercharged serum goes beyond the surface to actually help stop damage before it even starts. And of course, it gets major bonus points in my book for being cruelty-free, paraben free, and formulated without artificial fragrances or colors. If you haven’t incorporated vitamin C into your skincare routine yet, I highly suggest you do so, and this product is a great place to start!

fave products // w3ll people nudist multi-use powder duo

Truth be told, I rarely mix up my blush. I've used NARS Orgasm forever, and why fix what ain't broke, am I right? However, lately I've been exploring more natural, non-toxic skincare and makeup alternatives, and I'm really loving the products by W3ll People. I recently started using this Nudist Multi-Use Powder Duo, and one of the best things about it is its versatility. You'll find both the Nude Blush and a Nude Glow shades in this palette, and while you can use the darker to sculpt and the lighter to highlight your cheekbones, you can also mix them together for an easy, but radiant flush of color. I like that the duo gives me that healthy summer glow, without being too shimmery. Plus, you can use it as an eyeshadow as well! Multipurpose products are key for jet-setters like me- the less stuff to pack the better! If you prefer a cream blush, I also recommend trying out the Nudist Multi-Use Color Duo for lips, cheeks & eyes! Same subtle glow, but with a satiny, creamy finish :)

fave products // sunday riley auto correct eye cream

I'm getting to that age where I feel like an eye cream is a smart addition to my beauty routine, even if just for preventative measures. I've been a big fan of Sunday Riley products (hello Good Genes and Luna!) for a while now, so I was excited when they recently launched Auto Correct, a brightening and depuffing eye contour cream. What I love most about this cream is that it seems to give me a brighter, lifted look almost instantly, thanks to several plumping and hydrating ingredients like shea & cocoa butters and watermelon rind extract. Just like coffee perks you up in the morning, caffeine (along with ginseng root) in this product helps energize skin by reducing the appearance of any dark circles and puffiness you may have. Concentrated powerhouse ingredients like horse chestnut work to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, while antioxidant-rich lutein provides a lovely glow to the skin. As always, you won't find any parabens, sulfates, or phthalates in this cream, which is a huge bonus since my skin does not jive well with those things, causing major irritation. I've even heard that some people keep this eye cream in the fridge for a wonderfully refreshing cold cream in the morning- I just may have to try that. Regardless, I think it's safe to say that Auto Correct has earned a welcome spot in my daily rotation!

fave products // renée rouleau post-breakout fading gel

Everyone gets breakouts or the random blemish from time to time. One thing I've noticed as I've gotten older is that some blemishes take longer to heal than they used to. It seems like a little mark or scar lingers for a while, which is pretty freaking annoying, to be honest. Brighteners and exfoliators are pretty common these days, and for good reason. Both can be used to help reduce the appearance of any discoloration on your face, as well as quicken recovery time. Renée Rouleau Post-Breakout Fading Gel is a fast-acting acne scar treatment that helps lighten and fade any marks left from those pesky blemishes. White tea and sea whip extracts are powerful anti-inflammatory agents, with gentle soothing components as well. Lactic and glycolic acids work to exfoliate the skin, promoting a nice, even-toned complexion. Obviously, the effectiveness of the product depends on the severity of the blemish, so make sure you don't make things worse by picking! I know it can be hard to resist at times- trust me, I've been there- but I promise it's in your best interest. I've been using the gel pretty regularly for a while now, and can happily say that it's helped with any lingering dark spots and marks I have! I love when a product does what it says it'll do, so I definitely plan to keep a bottle of this in my cabinet going forward. The Texan in me got excited that Renée herself is an Austin-based skin-care expert and esthetician, and even better- her company is certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny! I've also been trying out (and really enjoying!) some other Renée Rouleau products as well, so keep an eye out for more reviews soon!

fave products // w3ll people bio booster facial serum

I'm back again with more natural skincare goodness care of W3ll People! Their Bio Booster Facial Serum is a seven-in-one formula that does practically everything, from hydrating and repairing to brightening and calming. Thanks to its impressive list of organic botanicals like turmeric, broccoli seed, black cumin, and algae complex, this serum works to rejuvenate my skin and even helps prevent breakouts.

While I sometimes use this as an actual serum followed by a different face oil, I also frequently use it as an oil all on its own (because let's be real- the fewer steps the better). To me, it offers the best of both worlds and is much more hydrating than your typical serum. I also like adding a couple drops to the Bio Tint Multi-Action Moisturizer for a truly flawless application. As always with W3ll People products, you won't find any of the yucky stuff (like parabens or synthetic fragrances) in this serum, which is a huge bonus when you have sensitive skin like mine.
