fave products // goop beauty goopglow vita-c brightening eye cream

I feel like I’m getting to that age where an eye cream is definitely a good idea. Mid 30s, two kids… you know what I mean. The skin under your eyes is super delicate, and is also quick to show signs of aging (or lack of sleep!), so adding a nourishing eye cream to your skincare routine can be highly beneficial. The Goop Beauty GOOPGLOW Vita-C Brightening Eye Cream does just that and more, thanks to an epic anti-aging combo of vitamin C and niacinamide. The gel-cream goes on smooth and silky, working its magic to depuff, color correct, and brighten right away, while also giving you firming, smoothing, and lifting benefits with continued use. If this sounds like it’s checking all the boxes, then we are on the same page! There’s even a plant-based retinoid alternative at play that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I’ve found that the light, hydrating texture absorbs into the skin easily, and is not irritating in the least. Plus it plays well with others- aka goes on nicely under makeup with no pilling! Here’s your sign to add GOOPGLOW Vita-C Brightening Eye Cream to your top shelf stat. I mean, hey, if it’s good enough for Gwyneth, am I right?!

fave products // good juju herbal

I mostly talk about facial skincare around here, but taking care of the skin on the rest of your body is super important as well! Plus, pampering yourself and treating your body well can feel like such a self care spa experience, so why wouldn’t you want to partake?? Bonus points for beautiful, handcrafted products that earn a coveted spot on your vanity or in your shower! Enter Good Juju Herbal, a brand that’s built on making lifelong, can’t live without staples. They believe that quality body care should be accessible to all regardless of skin condition, age, and income level, and the product line is intentionally designed to fulfill this purpose. Everything is also 100% natural (made from plants and naturally derived ingredients) with a strong focus on sustainability (they only offer the highest quality ingredients, fair trade partnerships, and value the importance of a healthy natural ecosystem). Not to mention, all Good Juju Herbal products are free from palm oil, parabens, fragrance oils, as well as skin irritating foaming agents like SLS. Yes please!

Now for the products themselves. I’ve been obsessed with the Good Juju Herbal Felted Soap, which is built on the fun idea of combining bar soap with a washcloth. It’s bar soap that is wrapped in a naturally antimicrobial coating of roving. When you wet the soap and start to lather, it will continue lathering through the outside coating. The roving will shrink with the size of the soap inside because when hot water hits the fibers of the roving, this allows it to open up and knit tighter and tighter around the outside of the soap. How neat, and feels so luxurious on the skin! I’m also a fan of the heavenly smelling Eucalyptus & Bergamot Bar Soap to take your shower to the next level. Good Juju makes some lovely scrubs for the body and face as well. Plus, the Whole Body Oil has been the perfect post-shower hydrator, and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth.

It’s no surprise I love a good face oil, and Good Juju Restorative Face Oil is one of the better ones I’ve tried lately. With nourishing ingredients like blue tansy oil, rosehip, squalane, and jojoba oils, it’s great for all skin types, including sensitive and blemish-prone. The product works to provide the skin with vital vitamins and fatty acids, while also boosting collagen and lipid repair as skin ages over time. After using the oil for only a few weeks, I can already tell it helps to reduce inflammation, regulate oil production, repair the skin barrier, as well as supply lasting, lightweight hydration. Next on my list to try is the Good Juju Essential Salve, which is said to be great for calming irritated or inflamed skin.

As if all that wasn’t enough, they also participate in The Happy Skin Project, which provides free and discounted soap to those currently undergoing radiation or chemotherapy in order to keep their skin as healthy and intact as possible. Good Juju also donates their soap ends to local shelters & community organizations. How wonderful!

fave products // fleur & bee serum and creams

Y’all know me- I love a good line of natural, non-toxic products that won’t irritate my skin, but are actually effective. Not surprisingly, this has been even more true throughout my pregnancy over the last several months. That’s why I was stoked to find a new, local brand called Fleur & Bee, which specializes in 100% vegan skincare! So far this minimal line includes just the essentials (think serum, face & eye creams, toner), but is made with quality, cruelty-free ingredients, and none of that toxic crap! Plus, it’s all super affordable, so you don’t feel like you have to skimp on it each time you apply. Maybe the best thing about the company, however, is that they donate 1% of sales to help distribute menstrual hygiene products to girls in need. How amazing is that?

By now I’m sure you’ve heard me applaud the many benefits of a vitamin C serum. I recently added their Nectar of the C Rejuvenating Vitamin C Serum to my routine, and I have to say I’ve been pleased with the results. This baby helps soften the appearance of fine lines and leaves me with glowing skin, which just goes to show that natural can still be powerful! It even stands up to serums that cost 2-3x as much! I’ve also been testing out Fleur & Bee’s creams, and they’ve been equally as impressive. The Crème de la Cream Moisturizing Face Cream is gentle and lightweight, but packed with potent botanicals and vitamins like Q10, vitamin C, vitamin E, aloe vera and pomegranate to keep your skin sufficiently hydrated. Plentiful antioxidants help fight wrinkles and even skin tone as well! The Eyes Eyes Baby Anti-Aging Eye Cream helps combat tired, puffy eyes and dark circles thanks to ingredients like vitamin E, squalane, caffeine, and green tea! It definitely helps me to awaken looking more well-rested in the morning (even if that’s not necessarily the case lately thanks to the wonder that is pregnancy). So smooth and hydrating! I definitely recommend checking out Fleur & Bee if you’re on the hunt for some new non-toxic, cruelty-free skincare that won’t break the bank!

fave products // sunday riley auto correct eye cream

I'm getting to that age where I feel like an eye cream is a smart addition to my beauty routine, even if just for preventative measures. I've been a big fan of Sunday Riley products (hello Good Genes and Luna!) for a while now, so I was excited when they recently launched Auto Correct, a brightening and depuffing eye contour cream. What I love most about this cream is that it seems to give me a brighter, lifted look almost instantly, thanks to several plumping and hydrating ingredients like shea & cocoa butters and watermelon rind extract. Just like coffee perks you up in the morning, caffeine (along with ginseng root) in this product helps energize skin by reducing the appearance of any dark circles and puffiness you may have. Concentrated powerhouse ingredients like horse chestnut work to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, while antioxidant-rich lutein provides a lovely glow to the skin. As always, you won't find any parabens, sulfates, or phthalates in this cream, which is a huge bonus since my skin does not jive well with those things, causing major irritation. I've even heard that some people keep this eye cream in the fridge for a wonderfully refreshing cold cream in the morning- I just may have to try that. Regardless, I think it's safe to say that Auto Correct has earned a welcome spot in my daily rotation!
